More losses in my past

sigh.... I need to stop researching.

SO I also found that the architectural program in College of San Mateo, where I had my first 2 years of studies, had ended 2004 whit my professor and dean, Mr. Paul Zimmerman retirement. I guess it's too late now to go back to the school and hope to see my studio is still intact. There are soo much great memories happened there. Great friends, great time, (where I started drinking!!)

Paul Zimmerman was a good teacher. Though I have to say, my fondest memory of him was when he actually slept through my presentation on Le Corbusier. I stopped in the middle and our class of about 8, all went silent, trying hard not to laugh and listened to his soothing snores.

by the way, do I still have the video tape of us drunk and mess around in the studio???

A Great Sense of Lost

From time to time, I researched back to my childhood school and see how the schools physically evolved (and they all did.) I hadn't been back to any of them since I know Alex and put my past behind. Today, as I was in my carpool. I went and search for Mr. Landis's whereabouts on my iphone(something I meant to search for for a long time). He is my middle school choir teacher for 2 years and my favorite teacher of all time. Terrified by the fact that I got hits that titles: school auditorium named after Robert Landis, further search confirmed his pass away in 2003 of cancer.
Mr. Landis was my first music teacher. He taught me not only music, singing techniques, but also expanded my music skills to unusual instruments like chimes and bells, which required great sense of rhythm, discipline, teamwork and coordination. He took our class to perform in the community all the time. (which got him in trouble since we were out of school so much) He has this charm (and mustache!) that influenced my own character.
It's sad to know that he passed away. And feeling a great sense of lost of my pass.

Rest in peace, you'll always be remembered & cherished.

A-boo & Citrus

update: He added Mandarin skin to the list today! And this one he kept on eating! kekeeke

So A-boo has this crazy taste pallets: he seems to like citrus skins.. (eww..) couple months ago he chuck into a lemon with skin still! (actually, he tried the lemon inside & outside... ) Then yesterday, he grabbed an orange from the fruit bowl and wondered how orange peel taste like. The first few bites was fine, then his taste pallet finally kicks in and his face started twitching. Until today, I wondered if he can taste anything or not since so far he just doesn't like anything that is too cold or too hot!!!
now I know. and now he knows orange peel taste awful, and lemon peel doesn't (as much), oh.. so are banana peel, he tried it too, that one he didn't like immediately, follow by weeks of banana-phobia. But I didn't take pictures of that.

A hug and a kiss for Grandma & Grandpa

I think Grandma & Grandpa is still feeling very warm and fuzzy. Last Friday we went to their home to have dinner and A-b00 walked to each one of them and give them each a hug and a kiss. Geez.. Hubby and I hadn't got one of those!! But A-Boo is on the kissing mode. So if anyone want this super adorable kid to give you a little smoochie. Now is a good time!

9 pages of photos to title.... zz..zzz..zzz...

Yeah, took me awhile but I got it. Nine pages of my little A-boo. Some were outdated late pictures from Hubby's camera. But many are from last weekend's little trip to Fort Baker, where we accidentally encountered. We were suppose to go to GG Bridge's end and let A-boo try out crossing the bridge. But he was sleepy and we were so out of date that the fact there's no way to get to the tourist area next to the bridge from the Marin side.

Anyway, tons of pictures. Enjoy!

My hubby - pioneer of helping the blind!?!

So today I heard a news about introducing a bill asking hybrid car
makers (prius) to make their cars noisier necause they are so quiet
right now that they pose a threat to the blinds. I would love to see
the studies behind that. (which they might find it difficult since
prius drivers tends to be bad drivers, according to my nubby, who got
involved in an accident hit by a prius) I don't believe it is a threat
and I would appreciate a quieter walk along the streets anytime.
This also branded my nubby a pioneer for the blind. Not only he got a
motorcycle that is pretty loud to begin with. He has to get one that
is modified so that it is EXTRA loud. Good work, love.

A-boo Sketch set #1

Nicky Sketch set #1
Originally uploaded by asicyonu
So I was bored today and had some time to kill. Instead of IF-ing (which I should write about later) I went ahead and try to do a couple of trace sketches of Nicky-boo. The hardest one was definitely the lower right hand corner one. Eyes are really hard to draw. Especially when he looks like a little alien in the first place. Next up: add mom & dad!

A book we enjoyed - The Big Bad Wolf And Me

We were in Barns & Nobles Richmond this afternoon hiding from the scorching sun and heat. While A-boo training his fingers with all the noise generating books, I found this neat little book on the shelf named: The Big Bad Wolf & Me. It caught my interest immediately with it's simple small cartoon layouts. All the graphics are simple and clean. And it was a cute & funny story. Hubby came by and he read the book and enjoyed it. No spoilers here. I didn't show A-boo the book in fear of his talents in deconstruction. A-boo is not old enough to understand the story anyway. Actually, we have not even introduce big bad wolf to him yet. Fairy-tales and fables have not yet catch his attention.
While I still have not been doing my children's book homework yet, but every once awhile I do try to pick up one and find many of these picture books far more interesting, imaginative, artistic and creative then any TV cartoons for children (which nowadays are mostly very "interactive"(not!)) But I think adults appreciates these books in a different levels compare to kids.

We didn't buy the book, though I'm thinking we should. Someday he might enjoy it.

First Iphone post - Nicky waiting in the car

it worked it worked!! wicked!!

so this is Nicky hanging at the moonroof of the car while waiting for Dad arriving from Bart.

neat little game Aboo likes to play

It's call: how close can I get to the TV before Mom & Dad screams?
Answer:
Mom - 10 feet, or eyes pinned to TV direction
Dad - depends, with 'weapons' in hand, 3 feet. without, 18 inches. Then of course if Dad himself is about that close and was paying attention to the TV.. He can get his hands up to 3 inches to the TV before dad notices.

Very fun game!

Aboo (Nicky) update

well,
He eats well. (too well.. he eats till he doze off, he eats eats eats)He's in daycare (eating). He has 11 teeth (bit me with everyone of them!!) He has a few vocabularies down. He is starting to have the concept of 'self' down. ( I want this, I want that, and a lot of " I know I know" !! ) ok.. so we all know his mouth & jaws are developing rapidly!! We got the idea.

he's walking now. he is now very much closer to toddlerhood. He still down to his all fours at time but he likes this walking thing. hey, two hands free to grab food and throw stuff. Onces that concept was down. He is all for this walking thing.

Bathing has become a problem, doesn't like the washing hair part. And I no longer bring him to the swimming pool since he doesn't seem to like it that much. He seems to be a bit afraid of water. Not sure what to do with that yet, I don't want to force him.

hmm.... I think I'll head to his bedroom now, I want to stare at him sleeping again. So peaceful.

has it been that long?

yeah, i really hadn't been blogging for that long. I owe great debt to sleep, time, and my hubby. It's always internet? or sleep? internet? or sleep? there's definitely no internet and baby. They do not co-exist in my life or my computer gets it.

well, hubby encouraged me to come back to my blog. there are so much to write about. Yes, it's been almost 18 months since Aboo (that will be nicky's online name for now. I decided to call him that since that was pretty much his first sound he made) was born and there's always something i can write about everyday, but I didn't. Life is about experiencing and not recording. If i have time, I will. But until there's time for that, I rather indulge myself to my experience. ( I can still sit there and just stare at Aboo sleeping for hours time) =)

I am looking into starting a parenting blog of some sorts (what?? isn't there like a godzillions of those already?!) Yeah, well.. who knows. We are in the mids of a baby boom (are there any celebrities not pregnant?)and I guess it's a popular thing to do.
Who knows, maybe something fun might come out of this.
